Hello, friends;
This is a short update but there's more to come! I promised my buddy, Bill to have an update by the 31st so though this is short....Here It Is! I have a whole lot to share with y'all, but will do it a bit at a time so I don't risk boring you and your canceling your subscription to The Hershberger Post! I'm working on learning more about blogging! I received Blogging For Dummies from my friends, Carol and Chuck so hope there will be little changes with each update. Now before you think Carol and Chuck were calling me a dummy, you need to know that I had wanted this book! :-D
Things I hope to incorporate into the blog are categories so I can have Squirrel School, Birdy Backyard just to name a couple and each post will be placed under a category name. That should make the blog easier to read! Now note I didn't say it would be any more interesting just easier to read! In the next update, definitely expect to see some home improvements we had done in January, a couple youtube videos that I found or were sent to me that I thought you may enjoy, some neat bird pictures or videos, some thoughts and informational comments to share and of course, more SQUIRRELS, SQUIRRELS, SQUIRRELS! YAY!! I know you just can't wait! I hope you all had a great Christmas and am praying each of you have had a wonderful start to 2012! Love to all, D~

Squirrels R Us!
Enjoy the following pictures and video of entertaining squirrels in my backyard! The following pictures were a lucky catch! These pictures show a squirrel drinking out of a small cat bird bath and drinking out of a fountain I have at my back stoop at the back door. Once in a while a squirrel will peek in the back door, and I look forward to catching one on my camera! In the new issue of The Hershberger Post, I'll have more backyard fun! I've named my backyard Fantasy DIsland! Are you old enough to remember the show this is based off of! De Plane De Plane! :-D
Let's Twist and Turn in a squirrely kind of way!
As you may be aware, I love watching the antics of the squirrels in my backyard! In this video, one of the squirrels has made his way up the Kob to sit on top, balancing himself as he eats. Often each week a squirrel will try or do something new! I would love to catch one squirrel chasing another, but those little boogers are fast and it's extremely hard to catch! But it's a good goal! The squirrels love this bungee cord and kob! If you're interested in getting this for your yard, you can purchse them through amazon.com. They are listed as Birdola Squirola Kob Bungee and Birdola Squirola Big Ol-Feet Kob!
